Until the end of January, Jordan spent her internship with us as part of her studies – and reports in a short interview how she liked it at PAC.
Dear Jordan, what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of the PAC advertising agency?
Great team, a great working atmosphere and interesting work.
How long were you at PAC?
I did a 6-month internship as part of my media management studies.
In which area did you work?
The focus of my work was clearly social media management, which is where I spent most of my time. However, I am very grateful that I was able to gain small insights into other areas at the agency, for example online marketing, copywriting and even graphics.
How did you come to the PAC advertising agency?
It was clear to me that I wanted to work in the region of South Lower Saxony/North Hesse, so I started looking for interesting companies in the area early on. After I had already followed PAC on Instagram and Facebook for some time and was able to get an impression of the work & atmosphere, I wrote a speculative application. It fitted in perfectly with my study plans and despite Corona, everything worked out with the internship.
What did your everyday work look like, what tasks did you do?
I took on the classic tasks of a social media manager: Editorial planning, maintenance and content creation of the agency’s internal channels and also those of some clients. Gradually, I was able to take on more tasks independently and express myself creatively. I am grateful that so much trust was placed in me that I was able to take over the social media management of the channels of the PAC advertising agency and also of a client almost completely independently after a few months.
What do you take away from your time at PAC?
A huge amount of practical experience that goes beyond the theory from my studies. Many new contacts and even friendships that have influenced me positively and will hopefully continue to do so in the future. A lot of motivation, ambition and fun at work. A bit of life experience that will certainly be of great use to me.
What did you like best about it?
Personally, the most important thing for me is the working atmosphere, in addition to interesting and relevant tasks. My high expectations were not disappointed: the teamwork works great for me. Also the varied tasks for versatile clients and that it was so easy to get insights into other areas besides social media.
In addition, I felt I had the steepest learning curve of my life here and was able to take away a lot of useful knowledge and skills.
Your advice for all future interns?
Commitment and interest in the work itself will get you very far. You learn a lot very quickly, so even with a little less experience you can make a meaningful contribution after a short time.
What personal qualities should you bring with you?
As I said, interest and commitment are half the battle. If you can work on your own initiative and still work well in a team, I think you’ve come to the right place. Due to the variety of client projects, there can also be somewhat stressful phases, so being able to work under pressure is definitely an advantage.
What compensation have you created for work?
Besides the internship, I kept in touch with my friends (as much as possible) and did sports.
Were you able to combine hobby and job at PAC?
Where do you go from here?
I am very happy that I don’t have to leave PAC yet, but can continue to work as a student trainee. I don’t want my work to stop at social media management: In the future, I will be even more involved in the areas of online marketing and content.
At the same time, I will of course continue my studies and probably graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in spring 2022.
Your funniest experience:
With many great people, there are also a lot of funny moments, I couldn’t commit to just one.
